ABOUT  US

Community Cats of Charlotte is an all volunteer, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to helping Charlotte County's homeless cat population.  Through no fault
of their own, stray, abandoned, and feral cats exist in our county.  Estimates put
their number at 30,000.
Community Cats of Charlotte is the only organization in Charlotte County with this  purpose.  Our plan is effective, long term and humane.

OUR MISSION is to improve the lives of feral and homeless cats living in Charlotte
County by humanely stopping their breeding
through a no-cost Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR)
program.  With TNR, the cats are humanely
trapped, spayed/neutered, vaccinated against Rabies, left ear tipped, and returned
to their original location.  The breeding stops
and the behaviors associated with mating
(spraying, fighting, yowling) stops.

Each 10 cats sterilized with this program prevents the birth of 150 additional cats in the first year after spaying and neutering.  With perseverance, we  will make a difference
for the cats and the community.

OUR PURPOSE AND COMMITMENT are
to:
*Facilitate the work of caregivers caring for
feral and homeless cats in their group
 (colony) and controlling the population
 growth with TNR.
*Provide a viable, humane, and cost
effective alternative to euthanasia at the
 animal shelter.
*Build a dialogue with people having issues
with feral and homeless cats and reaching
out to help resolve the problems.

Educate people in Charlotte County about Trap-Neuter-Release (TNR) and its positive
impact in the community.

OUR VISION is to have a community where
no kittens are born wild on the street......where
no cat capable of living in a home is lacking one......and where no adult feral cats go

wanting for food, water, and appropriate
care.

THANK YOU  FRIENDS........over 1000 pounds of dry and can food were collected
during our second annual food drive for
stray, abandoned, and feral cats in
Charlotte County......With the devastation
created by hurricane Irma, we are happy
to be ready to supplement the food our
colony caregivers need to feed their cats
and to continue to partner with them
when needed.
